A Tour Round the Garden.
Today I am going to take you on a duty tour of the back garden . We will begin with the vista from an upstairs windowpane . The pots all round the pool are to keep the Pisces safe from the heron . But lease ’s go outside and start the tour . If we start on the left bridge player side of the garden we will find a sunny bed that is mainly implant for summertime interest . The color scheme here is mainly blue and yellow . There are a few interesting plants in flush now . I already demonstrate you the lovelyArum creticumin my last situation , but there are other treasure here . I love the charteuse yellow of the neat , compactEuphorbia polychroma . Paeonia mlokosewitschii will soon be in flower .
I love this picayune late florescence , spotted reddish blue : Viola sororia‘Freckles’ . I ca n’t resist fringed tulips and this yellowed one is a endearing impertinent spring colour . I also have the lovely little speciesTulipa tardaat the front of this border . As I said the color strategy is my favourite blue and yellow and I have some lovely blueMuscarihere . I eff the two -toneMuscari latifolium . But I am doing it again , record you every flush instead of impart a spell . So I sha n’t show you the otherMuscarinow : on with the tour of duty . The layer you see here was very minute when we come here just under 4 years ago so the first affair I did was to make it wider . you may never create much of an impact with a narrow boundary line . Each year it get a bit wider as I piece off more and more lawn . It had lots of random curves in it and I have tried to make it into a more elegant ‘ Hogarth ’s Line of Beauty ’ which is essentially an elongated ‘S ’ shape . The trouble is I am hopeless at edging . In the exposure above you may seeMagnolia‘Star Wars ’ underplanted with the dismal pink Tulip ‘ Negrita’ . There are some big matured trees at the back of this bed which have been there a long time . They were planted a bit too close together . The first is a crab Malus pumila : Malus‘Golden Hornet . ’ It is pretty in flower and has bright yellow fruit . I would never select ‘ Golden Hornet ’ though because it hangs on to its fruit when they go brown . For a lily-livered fruited crab apple I would go for the lovely ‘ Butter Ball ’ or ‘ Comtessa de Paris ’ Anyway it is there now and one has to be grateful for mature trees . Next to it isAcer pseudoplatanus‘Brilliantissimum ’ which has shrimp coloured parting right now .
It look endearing growing mightily next to a largeAmelanchier .Squashed behind these tree is a Whitebeam which has lovely silvern white-hot foliage in give . The birch tree tree diagram in the photo is in next door ’s garden .

I love the variegated honesty;Lunari annua alba‘Variegata ’ . It seeds around and comes true from seed . I wish to grow it with this lovely tulip . I suppose it is ‘ Purissima ’ but I am not certain . When the sun shines the tulip open up its petals and looks sensational . Carrying on the pure white theme I haveExochorda x macrantha‘The Bride ’ here too . I think it is a sensational shrub and it is very easy to arise from semen if you have patience . The deep blue forgetmenot type prime at its animal foot isOmphalodes cappadodicawhich I am very affectionate of at this time of the year .
Oh dear , I am doing it again , show up you all the flowers . I am afraid we are only going to get as far as the summer household today . allow ’s go on a bit . I am very fond of the tulip ‘ Prinses Irene ’ . I love the orange contrasted with the purple flash and purple stalk . Carrying on the bronzey orange radical I love this gold lacedPrimulawithEuphorbia dulcis‘Chameleon ’ .
Finally a tulip which I imagine is peculiarly pretty but I am not sure which one it is . Can anybody tell me?It has taken such a long time to get as far as the bench that I shall have to continue the tour in another post . In my next C. W. Post I shall show you some recollective shot that my son took of the garden and you wo n’t have to stop to reckon at every flower .

Oh , I love this first part of the go very much , even with the stops to check out the prime . I love that Primula too , it looks very much like one I just buy . I ’ve seen ‘ Prinses Irene ’ in a few other posts this outpouring , I really should get some to embed in the fall . I prefer species tulips , but for those color I might make an exclusion .
Your garden look the very epitome of spring Chloris . I would wish to break and ponder on that work bench for a while . Love the lunaria and tulip combination .
