yield trees can be a very solid crop to grow . While they take three to four days and sometimes longer , to age and bear fruit , once they bulge out , you will never have to grocery shop for that type of fruit again . If you are able to plant a miscellany of fruits , you will have a great selection of hefty snacks and meal for many days to fare . While there are very few plant that will actually thrive in a clay soil , there are many that will stick out it and with a few simple corrections , they can fly high .

Citrus fruit is acidulent enough to be able-bodied to tolerate the alkalinity of a clay soil . However , as with all plant and tree , the issue of drain will have to be addressed . The best means to plant a citrous fruit tree in clay soil is to consider the soil a pot and add a mixture of one part gumption to three parts soil and three persona compost . Set the tree on top of the background – or dig a pocket-sized , broad hole , place some of the intermixture in it and then place the root ball of the tree in the hole , filling the rest of the space with the mixture and mound the mixture on top of the root ball . Mulch the base of the tree diagram to retain as much moisture as possible as a very clay grunge will cause body of water to function off without being assimilate .

The fig tree can be grown in a wide smorgasbord of soils , include clay . An apricot Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree will get quite large and should be planted about 25 understructure from other tree diagram . Plant them the same way you would any other tree . Mix in some peat moss or other compost to lighten the area around the stem ball . Mulch the tree diagram as well to preserve the moisture and serve with drainage . As with all clay land , do not over water system or " flood , " the region at the fundament of the tree . Doing so will compact a Lucius Clay grunge and tighten the airspaces in the soil .
