These are my good thoughts on the new gravity - defying Starbucks pick .

In honor of the upcoming premiere ofWicked , Starbucks of late launchedtwo fresh gravity - refuse drinks . As a decades - long fan of the musical ( and the deep brown string ) , I knew I had to try them — so I line up up the soundtrack and headed to the drive - thru .

As I ordered the drinks — Glinda ’s Pink Potion and Elphaba ’s Cold Brew – my barista warned me they were “ really skilful , but a little funky . ” And he was ripe — but not in a bad elbow room . The flavor combinations are decidedly unexpected , but I have a smell these menu items are going to bepopular .
The melodious - inspired drinks reach menus last week and will be useable until the movie ’s launch on November 22 ( or until supply last , which belike wo n’t be long , according to my barista ) . And in a few weeks , you ’ll even be capable to order the concoction in the stain ’s newWicked - inspired drinkware , which drops in stores on November 7 .
Here ’s what I opine about the potable ( and which one I plan to order again ) .

Glinda’s Pink Potion
This deglutition taste exactly like what you ’d gestate from Glinda — a bright pinkish and bubbly confection . In the first sip , you get the sweetness of the Strawberry Nondairy Cold Foam and pink candy sprinkles , follow by a still - sweet but sightly tart Dragon Drink ( which is Starbucks ' Mango Dragonfruit Refresher mixed with coconut milk and real dragonfruit pieces ) . The color really contribute to the experience , too — I’m not used to drink in something that expect so bright and glad , and it in spades perked up my morning .
However , the drunkenness was a bit too sweet-smelling for me . In the future , I ’d order it without the cold froth , but I ca n’t imagine a beverage more Glinda - fied than this .
Elphaba’s Cold Brew
This is the drink I was most sceptical about ( something about light-green coffee just does n’t feel correct to me ) , but I actually loved it ! The Elphaba - prompt drink is a peppermint cold brew top with Starbucks ' signature Nondairy Matcha Cold Foam and fleeceable and pink lucre sprinkles . Matcha and peppermint candy are n’t relish I would have paired together , but the outcome was astonishingly unruffled and creamy with just the right amount of sugared peppermint flavor .
This is a swallow I would have sex to lend to the lasting menufor good , but it likely wo n’t be around for more than a few hebdomad . Once the holiday menu drops , I project to order a holiday peppermint cold brewage and ask them to contribute thematcha foam — though I ’ll definitely be back for another official Elphaba creation in prevision of the movie , which hits theaters on November 22 .
