We ’re back to see the garden that Kathy Sandel designed for her son in Los Angeles . She lean into the gay climate and embraced the design of his raw home by choosing long-lived , drought - broad , architecturalsucculentsmixed with a variety show of other plants to soften and add light-green to thesmall quad .
This is in the rearward garden , with its beautiful paving Harlan Fisk Stone . A purpleAlstroemeria(Zones 8–11 ) add up a pop of color with very long - lasting flowers , and a tercet of beautiful glazedcontainershouse orange roses .
Anoakleaf hydrangea(Hydrangeaquercifolia , Zones 5–9 ) flower in a quite a little . The container and the white wall behind it form a perfect skeletal system to show off the hydrangea like the work of artistic production that it is .

The beautiful aloe in the front of thisraised bedlooks to be fan aloe ( Aloeplicatilis , Zones 10 – 11 ) . What an incredible livelihood sculpture !
This ivy - leaved geranium ( Pelargoniumhybrid , Zones 9–11 or as an yearly ) is monumental . Forms ofgeraniumssuch as this grow long , trailing base , and await so consummate spilling over the boundary of a container , raised seam , orwindow box .

Two great succulents develop together in this container — a fanaloe , and at its baseEcheveriagibbiflora‘Caronculata’,which has silvern leaves topped with unusual chunky growth that give it a very unique appearance .
