Another look at a beautiful Michigan garden
We ’re back with more of Joanne Kenyon ’s incredible garden in Owosso , Michigan . I asked her how she keeps her garden looking so fabulously everlasting .
My favorite garden tools include a bowed stringed instrument trimmer edger ( only electric for me ) . I use it to keep my bed edged . And early in the time of year I use a hula-hula hoe once or twice a week to keep weed seedlings under control until repeated foliage covers the ground . As time goes on , I ’m trying to find lower - care plants and am occupy in now with many more Bush .
I have memorise that it ’s hunky-dory to throw out special plants . I do part , but there are way too many . I have all sorts of plants growing in my compost stack . Fortunately , I have a wooded area where I can throw everything in . Favorite plants that do well are repeated throughout the yard .

I turn mostly perennial and bush . I like perennials because the garden is changing on a weekly foundation . It ’s never the same . And it starts blooming earlier here in Michigan , as annual are not really up and running until later June or early July .
I do n’t mulch , as it ’s not really needed for sess control . I do add a layer of compost every year , except this year I skipped it . I do n’t habituate much fertiliser except for annuals .
And then there is the gearing garden . We have a dedicated area filled with deoxyguanosine monophosphate - weighing machine home and figurines along with a G - ordered series wagon train that even goes through a burrow . The area is filled with mostly very low ground covers . It is a trade union movement of lovemaking because it demand a lot of employment to keep vegetation off the tracks . But it invoke to everybody because everybody loves trains .

Every year , this Australian honeysuckle vine valorously tries to take over . After flush , I usually prune it back .
perspective from the front corner of the house . I make a enceinte bottom between the sign of the zodiac and the neighboring private road . It help that we own that while of attribute as well .
An overview from the back corner . I make out using curving short letter in the borders .

A repurposed spring turned into a plantation owner . I let on that outflow are n’t that easy to maintain . so I usually imbed annuals in mine every spring .
This rain bbl is part of the garden , although I do n’t utilize it much . It ’s somewhat tricky get to the spigot , especially with the roseate George Bush there .
Another view .

This pathway between the house and the large bed fronting the adjacent driveway is one of my favorite views . It is also what I see when I start the window nicety in our bedroom every morning .
The back corner of the mill .
gear garden with ground cover . My husband assembled the edifice from kits and I “ landscaped ” them .

And there ’s the geartrain .
And we even have a burrow . In the backdrop is the garden shed where we store the train and building in wintertime .
