I knowSunset zonesare more helpful for gardener in the West because they employ many more cistron ( i.e. elevation ) than just minimum wintertime temperatures ( which is how we gardeners in the East get our zones ) . But I inquire if my sundown zone is more useful . In Connecticut , I am inUSDA Hardiness Zone 6 . My Sunset Zone is 34 . Here is the verbal description :

It sound accurate , but when I scan from the Sunset Northeastern Garden Book , it suppose : “ This happy clime has predictable and temperate season with generous hurry year - round . ” I want to take issue with that , but I reckon it is true compared to other regions .
