When Joan Stogryn - Galloway bought her home she found a perfect stage for her love of horticulture and travel memories !
“ When we bought our sign in late wintertime 5 years ago we settle in love with the “ ivory ” of the garden , thehardscapingand the trees . When we moved in that summertime we get a line that the shrub had all been shear into twiglike globe and the seam were solid with cedar tree origin and continue withinvasive ivy , horsetail , ostrich ferns and periwinkle . After a stack of digging , pulling , amending and planting the garden has been transmute .
The shady areas are light up with chartreuse tones from the Hakonecloa grasses and chicken tonedhostas . I ’ve used regal leave foliage to set off the yellowish green tones and give the axe it up with mint of hot colors for the summer sun beds and then cool off white in the patio containers . The trickling falls from the current into the pond aid to cool off red-hot afternoon and make a reposeful mood . We ’ve also lend art objects , some from our travels – a Terracotta warrior from China and a large masquerade from Belize . ”
